Q- Is it possible
to lose 10 pounds of fat in one week like the advertisements
claim?
A- It's physiologically
not possible to lose that much fat in
one week, that is, unless you weigh 1000 pounds. A very rough
estimate of how much fat you can lose is about 1% per week of
your total body weight when cutting calories by 50%. For example,
if you weigh 220 pounds, you can expect to lose approximately
2.2 pounds of fat per week on a strict calorie reduced diet (220
x 0.01 = 2.2).
IBW for Females
Where do you get your
nutrition information? Most states now have licensure laws for
Dietitians and Nutritionists. Be sure your nutrition advisor
is "Licensed" by the State as a Licensed Dietitian
(LD) or Licensed Nutritionist (LN), or in states that don't have
licensure laws, a Registered Dietitian.
